Gallivan-tin is a delightful Yorkshire Dales Cottage, for holiday let, in the village of Thornton Rust in Upper Wensleydale... a beautiful getaway!
Thornton Rust is a small village within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It has a village hall, a chapel and an active community life.
The village is three miles from both Askrigg and Bainbridge, and just two miles from Aysgarth. In Aysgarth, there is a village shop, two pubs, cafes, a church and doctor's surgery. The market towns of Hawes and Leyburn are only seven & 11 miles respectively. Sitting on the slopes of Addlebrough, it is surrounded by glorious hills and dales, and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike.
The cottage most likely dates back to the early 1800s and enjoys character and charm in abundance.
On the ground floor, there is a little kitchen, which is virtually open through to a charming dining room with flagged floors and ceiling beams. The living room also has stone flagged floors and a superb inglenook fireplace with slit stone lintel.
A holiday let, under renovation, to be available in 2019.
